IOWA'S FIRST NEIGHBORHOOD

Investment Drive 2024

The average vacant building costs a city over $300,000 in lost impact annually. At Dubuque Main Street, our programs are time-tested and supported by Main Street Iowa and Main Street America.
Our focus on promotions, design, organization, and economic vitality benefits every business in Dubuque County. We need your help now, more than ever, to find success in this post-pandemic office recession. Dubuque cannot thrive unless our downtown thrives.

Dubuque Main Street is the "oldest, continuously running, urban Main Street Program in the country." This is a title that all Dubuquers can be proud of and support.

Dubuque Main Street (DMS) serves 235 blocks in 10 districts.
This far exceeds the national average of one district and 60 blocks.

Let's compare Iowa communities*

*Iowa communities block average: 28

Dubuque Main Street has the largest footprint of any Main Street program in Iowa. This equates to high participation in programming and a need for additional funding. In addition, we host 42+ events each year and have ten committees run by volunteers. Our need to expand programming is crucial to our mission.
