Danielle Jacobs | executive director
Danielle (right) joined DMS in September of 2022. She previously served for six years as the executive director for Freeport (Ill.) Downtown Development Foundation. During that time, she launched the Pretzel City Brewfest, Pretzel City Winefest, the Red Dirt Music Fest, and 610 Music Festival. She also worked with business owners on revitalizing downtown Freeport. She most recently managed events and marketing at the Wagner House in Freeport and once served as the interim director of Stephenson County (Ill.) Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She lives in Dubuque with her husband and son. They enjoy live music and camping.
Laura Bertjens | event & resource specialist
Laura (left) returned to DMS in September 2021 as our Event & Resource Specialist. Previously she was the Office & Marketing Manager for seven years. Her background is in all things communication, marketing, public relations, and special events. Laura considers herself a ‘Jill-of-all-trades’ and strives to perform random acts of kindness whenever and wherever she journeys in life. She lives in Kieler, Wis. with her husband. They own Bertjens Tree Farm.
